The Retreat On Risbygate was a fantastic choice for our 3-night stay. the house was very comfortable and well-equipped, making us feel right at home. We loved the ideal location, just a short walk to the town centre. the off-road parking space was a bonus, ensuring our convenience. the towels were the fluffiest we've ever experienced. the provision of tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, oil. the owners were incredibly helpful and quick to communicate. We'll definitely be returning soon.
We felt quite safe and nothing was too much trouble.

The location of the Retreat On Risbygate was fantastic, just a short walk to town yet still quiet. The house itself was spacious and well-equipped, with a lovely outdoor space. The cleanliness was evident and we appreciated the nice fragrance throughout. Additionally, the amenities provided, such as soaps and towels, were of high quality. The off-road parking space was also a great convenience. we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
While the house was suitable for three people, it might not be ideal for those with young children or disabilities due to the steep staircase. We also noticed some dust on the carpet and bedding, which triggered allergies for my little one and me.

After a day exploring the historic University of Cambridge, I returned to the accommodation at The Retreat on Risbygate and couldn't wait to relax on the patio. With a glass of wine in hand, I soaked up the serene atmosphere and enjoyed the calming breeze. It felt like a little slice of heaven away from the bustling city.
Wobbly saucepans.

I had a great stay at The Retreat On Risbygate in Bury St. Edmunds. The location was perfect for my needs and the decor of the villa was lovely. I really appreciated the little touches, like finding a bottle of milk in the fridge and having washing machine tablets available. The south-facing back yard with table and chairs was a bonus, providing a perfect spot to relax. The kitchen was well equipped and I had everything I needed to cook a proper meal. The off-road parking space across the road was also excellent, as parking outside can be a hassle. The owners were extremely helpful and responded quickly to any inquiries. The towels were amazingly fluffy and the provided toiletries added a lovely touch. The overall comfort and well-equipped nature of the house made my stay very enjoyable.
In terms of minor drawbacks, the blind in the bedroom didn't do a great job of keeping out the streetlight, so some curtains would have been ideal. Additionally, the bins in the property were on the smaller side and I couldn't find a wheelie bin or larger bin for proper rubbish disposal.

The Retreat On Risbygate provided a compact and convenient stay just a 10-minute walk from town. The location was perfect with no hills to tackle and parking nearby was a breeze. The hot water and heating were excellent, and the large TV and reliable internet connection were a nice bonus. The kitchen amenities, including the microwave, kettle, and toaster, were top-notch. The separate dining extension was light and cheerful, making me feel right at home. I strongly recommend this hotel for its convenience and comfort.

The bathroom with a bath and a washing machine was an absolute lifesaver for a tired traveler like me. It was so nice to have some extra space to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring. Plus, being able to do some laundry on-site was a huge convenience.
Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of the hairdryer in the bathroom. It just didn't work very well for my hair type.

We had an amazing value for our money at Retreat On Risbygate. The room was clean, well-decorated, and had all the amenities we needed. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the town center and close to our friend's wedding venue. The staff treated us with kindness and made our stay even more enjoyable.
The morning meal could use a little improvement in terms of variety and options.
